New Blackbird so far....

Well I’m loving my ‘new’ Blackbird what a fantastic bike. I’ve changed the screen from a double bubble to an MRA with the adjustable spoiler. True what everyone says on here; great but a touch noisy! I’m 6’3 but this screen allows wind onto my chest at its lowest setting and zero buffeting at high speed. Previous DB screen was pushing my lid into my oversize nose. MRA - problem solved. Only gripe now is the weight on my wrists. I’ve thought about bar risers but wondered if this would put me higher and into wind blast???

Try relaxing your grip, the bird is a big heavy lump but surprisingly light when you’re riding.

That was one of my main concerns! Had a VFR750FV for ten years then step down to an FZS600 for 5 years (learned a lot mind!) but this ain’t bad at all, it can tip in nicely. Even getting it onto the centre stand doesn’t seem much worse than the VFR.
Will try to relax my grip see how that goes cheers! Am I right thinking bar risers will raise my head quite a lot?

Should do but I never felt the need for them & I’m 5’ 8”

Diet?
An alternative to the bar risers is actually VFR800 vtec bars (1st version if I remember correctly) They look neater than risers.
Can't say how much they lift your head as I can't remember where mine used to be!
But by changing the screen you have took away any wind on your chest that can take away the weight on your wrists.

I'm with Derek on this - I had a bad time for a while with discomfort on a Bird and eventually figured out it was down to me being tensed up on the bike. Once I sorted that it was fine.

My second Bird came with bar risers and foot lowering pegs, can honestly say that they made little if any difference to me compared to my first Bird, and I'm well over six foot and have a fragile lower back.
