New Blackbird owner!

Hey all, I just joined the forum and I thought I'd say hi.

I've recently bought an S reg FI Blackbird, after about 8 years off bikes. It's taken a little time to get used to it but it's quite brilliant. I commute 60 miles a day on it and plan to go touring with my wife, so I have bought all sorts of luggage for it.

It's pretty standard at the moment but I have plans for it, I have started trying to make it a little bit more modern by fitting LED indicators and rear light, and I have an HID kit for the headlight also. I will post pictures soon!

I would like to tidy up the rear end a little, as I'm not too keen on the big black mudguard thingy. I'd like to get a tail tidy for it but there doesn't seem to be much out there. Before I try to make a universal one fit, has anyone come up with a decent solution?

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the mad house! @tu*

Not sure about you finding a tail tidy but there's plenty of bling available, if that's your thing.

Enjoy the banter and piss taking but most of all enjoy the bike.

Ride safe! @tu*

Welcome on board w4lc0m3

No idea about a specific tail tidy for the bird - like a lot of others on here, I've always retained the standard mudguard especially for commuting as it does help keep a lot of the crud off you and the bike.

I am sure one of the usual experts will chime in shortly will some advice on where to pick up a good tail tidy.

Best of luck with the bike @tu*

Thanks guys. I wouldn't say I'm after a lot of bling for it, just a few bits here and there. I'll also give the suspension a refresh in the next couple of months, and will look into uprated brake lines and a better exhaust. It had some aftermarket silencers on it but they were too short and too loud for my taste, they are now in the shed waiting to be sold!

Ultimately I am planning to end up with a very nice bike, and to buy a cheap commuter for the winter to keep it that way.

There are plenty of tarts on here who will advise you with bling8rfl@

The usual places like ebay can provide some parts, another good resources is jaws motorcycles who specialise in bird goodies http://www.jaws-motorcycles.co.uk/bird.htm

And then there is some retired bloke called jaws who generally if he can remember where he is in the world, will have most answers.

Other than that, MOST members enjoy some light piss taking and will be able to help if help is needed

Welcome
