Hi All
I am about to buy a brand new Blackbird after selling my ZZR1100. Is there anything I want to be looking out for.

Welcome Boomer

Since you are buying new you should be sound. Got mine new, lost a fairing fastener and the assembly that holds the rear light/numberplate and mudgard almost fell off. Loose nuts !:goofy:
All was then well until CCT failure before the 8000 mile service.

Got 20,000m up now without any problems.

Good luck.

P.S. buy a BLACK one.R#? R#?

Make sure you get a decent hugger to keep the crud away!!

Set of decent pipes makes a difference as well - ART on mine

Contact JAWS for a price on the hugger?

Hi ya Boomer,

Good news about getting a bird...you cant go far wrong really..I would only suggest a fender extender to be added as it keeps all the crap off your shiney pride and joy.

Boomer. You've made the right choice, blue is by far the most appealing.

I recommend you get a hugger asap in order to extend the life of your rear shock and your knuckles :}
In respect of cans, I've got a pair of titanium Akrapovics fitted, however I'm about to go complete Akrapovic system 4-1 with a carbon can. Titanium is nice but carbon is easier to keep clean (I hope).
The only other recommendation is ride the thing and ride it hard. There is no doubt that it's a great touring bike, but ride it hard and the rewards are fantastic. Don't be intimidated by it's size; it'll handle and if ya don't belive me check out the non-existant chicken strips :}

Oi !!! I resemble that remark !!! :m

Even if there is a grain of truth in it! (well more than one grain actually, oh all right , a fuckin beach full of grains .......!)

Anyway, Boomer, don't worry too much about any of the posts regarding my POS, it's definitley an exception to the rule. Everyone on this forum has been helpful in trying to get Kylie (my bike, long story) sorted. Definite helpful bunch.

Mad a bucket of frogs mind you tho' !!! :f :beer:

(yes that one)

and a tin of black paint don't cost that much really, since you bought one of them s l o w blue uns'
