Neglect or not?

Well I feel vindicated in my belief that the Mcanns had nothing to do with their daughters disappearance, (didn't comment on this post but did on a related one sometime ago).

Yes I still believe they made an error of judgement in leaving their kids alone but I wasn't there and so I can't really comment on whether they were guilty of neglect; our garden is about 200 feet long, am I guilty of neglect if I put my kids to bed then go down the garden to work on the bike/do some gardening with the mrs :dunno:.

Most of these cases don't even come into the public eye because the parents just don't have the ability to keep pushing for answers which is what the Mcanns have done, this is what got them both the publicity and the associated grief. As I said before, if they were in any way implicated in their daughters disappearance why would they keep hassling both the Portuguese & British police for results you would want the case dropped as quickly and quietly as possible.

Have you actually spoken to anyone cos most people I know still have the same opinions
Actually, yeah. I already said that in the second from last line in my post..... and you quoted it....... pay attention Derek for heavens sake!!

I've spoken to many many people. Virtually all of them think that the notion that they had anything to do with it is absolutely absurd. There's been a few confused tabloid worshippers along the way but they are in a right dilemma now they know they were all lying.

Perhaps you should loosen your grip on their throats when you ask them Rob?:-0)

If they are constantly in the spotlight hassling the police then it puts pressure on the police & throws them off the scent, a tactic used successfully to get Sion Jenkins released from prison, just because the Police & papers were more than economical with the truth doesn't prove the McCanns innocence, admittedly it doesn't prove their guilt however going on the McCanns reactions & body language my gut instinct is that they are connected

If they had been two scruffs from a council estate ( I grew up on a council estate) they would have been convicted for neglect. As they are "professional people" that has been avoided for some reason. And for the record I think they had a lot to do with it!

Tonight I'm going to go to the pub up the road. I'm going to leave my three kids sleeping at home with the door unlocked and no responsible adult in the house to care for them. I'll do the same on Wednesday and Thursday night as well.

Is this neglect?
Dont know if the McCanns did ot or not... Not enough clear evidence to make an informed decision......STILL !!

But answering the original question... Just read this article !, and make your own mind up...

We used to leave our lkids (both in bed and asleep) while I took Jan to work at 2100 hours (away for no more than 10 mins), but never felt comfortable with it...

You never know what can happen in just a few minutes...

Always better safe than sorry, and not in the mood for any holier than thou feelings...

Its up to a personal choice at the end of the day...

Cheers,

Rolfy
