Did anyone do it?

Wouldn't mind seeing this years matrix, to get a feel for the area covered.
Fancy the idea of having a go.

I did. I only did it on the Sunday where there is a limit on how many points you can get which limits the award you can get. I got the daytime bronze, which is the best for the one day.

I'm happy to send you the files but have a look at this it's an interactive maps that's counts the controls and points and tells you what award you can get.

Thanks Dan, that's exactly what I was after.
By looking at that I will be able to see what I may be able to achieve.

Do the points roughly equate to the mileage between each control and then the total mileage?

How did you find it?
Have you done it before?

Points dont equate to milage. There are set points between the controls and you have to balance how many controls you visit with the amount of points you accumulate to fit into the various award limits! It took a little bit of thinking to plan a route that got the right amount of controls/pounts but the interactive map was a God send!

When I get home I'll post the requirements for each award.

I used to run a checkpoint here in Thetford
I seem to remember they changed the route and Thetford was no longer needed

this was my route

It was about 230 ish miles which isn't a lot for a day out but most, if not all, checkpoints were in built up areas.

That's a shame John, I would have added you in to my route for next year. I'm going to attempt the Platinum.

Seeing your route has helped, it shows what is possible without venturing too far.

I've just followed the route we did last Friday as part of my run around to the Ace Cafe.
Friday, apart form a smidge of the M25 in order to cross the Thames, we didn't use motorways.
We Didn't start until 10 and were at the digs by 7.00
With some very minor tweaks we could have easily done 11 stops and 280 points.
But that was over in Norfolk and the roads were good.

Can you look on the list to see where the Norfolk / Suffolk check points are for me please ?

That's good but don't forget that 11 checkpoints and 280 points doesn't fall into the award criteria so would need tweaking a bit more!

That was me just 'overlaying' our route (roughly) onto the map check points.
Will definately be looking into this again for next year.
