A little mock up ....

will need to trim the 90 degree bend for it to fit in the side panel as a dummy exhaust

Sweet as.....
Are the mount tubes double skinned ?
The Thrush ones always were so they did not discolour with heat

Not sure what you mean about mount tubes ... but as there is no heat going through these (they may be dummy pipes.... or maybe tapped into 1/2 way down via flexi from the Z3 exhausts .....

Unfortunately the chassis would need cutting to get one of the pipes anywhere near where they should go ...... many have tried and failed !
A flexi could be used to route back to the pipes but only 1/2 way down ....
I would rather leave the chassis alone ... but once the body is lifted up I will have a look and see .... but happy as dummy’s .... I imagine the 6 cylinders would burble nicely through one of the 3” diameter exhaust tubes !!

Next update ...
New soft top today !!
The old one leaked and you could put your arm through a hole (which had been temporarily fixed) between the rear window and the roof fabric .... this let in a lot of water !0631765C-F119-4B9D-AFA0-69679C8826A1.jpeg3151973B-FF3F-48C2-A435-0E1FB3A0959C.jpeg7522013E-47E0-47F9-8689-8B3D0273447A.jpeg0631765C-F119-4B9D-AFA0-69679C8826A1.jpeg3151973B-FF3F-48C2-A435-0E1FB3A0959C.jpeg7522013E-47E0-47F9-8689-8B3D0273447A.jpeg

Evening all
Weather has been a bit rubbish so progress is a bit slow .....
fibreglassed some nudge bar mounts on to ‘glass body (took ages to set in the cold weather!!) it’s rock hard now .... and looks good !
Did a little more rubbing down and found more places that needs filler ... is this never ending ??

Managed to get some lookalike screw on spinners (see pic) and on the refurbed wheels they look rather nice !! (The light doesn’t show them off to their potential... but you get the idea !)

The rear nudge bar now has reflectors on it .... and the over riders are spaced slightly away from the bars ..... it looks neater in my opinion
just need to sort out rear fog/reverse lights .... but I have a plan !!!

THANKYOU Malone ... it’s true about black !
BUT this is my second Z3 .... the first was black! This one is titanium silver (see new roof pics)
There’s a colour change planned ... (NOT to black tho) BUT with silver stripes to tie everything in !!

Surely it has GOT to be white, with electric blue stripes

You would think .... or electric blue with white stripes ??
But both of these are popular and have been done loads of times !!

I’m building this with a modern twist ....

Original car is silver .... and as I’m not fully stripping the shell I have to keep engine bay as silver .... hence the silver stripes
