Left E'burgh area early evening on Friday. M9 up to Stirling then A84 through Callander,Lochearnhead and stopped for fuel at Tyndrum. Had been a roasting hot day and it was a crackin' night to be on the bike. Kept going up through Rannoch Moor and Glen Coe. Had a B&B booked at Onich.
Good weather again on Saturday through Fort William, crackin roads from here through Spean Bridge and to Invergarry then onto the A87 to Kyle.
It's been a year since I was last up this way (on a ZX9), the roads are just superb but the surroundings are a serious distraction !
Onto Skye and over to Elgol on the east to see the view!
Went back to Kyle to meet friends and then we all went up to Portree......roads:bow:
In a beer garden for 4pm for some good craic.
Stayed in the hostel in Portree centre, ?16 a head. Bikes were safe around the back and right next to window of our room@tu*
I had an early start on Sunday as was working at 2 so left ahead of the rest. Roads were wet to start but quickly dried.
Great weekend, anyone who's thinking of some time away on the bike, I could recommend this route.

John.

Nice photos and I love that part of the world. Dead envious. Haven't been to the Highlands since 2010 but I recognise the places. Must get back.

Rode across Skye in 2009 when I got blown all over the road and it was raining buckets. Scary it was. I followed a couple on a Kawasaki. I had had enough by the time I got to Portree so I booked into one of those B&Bs that line the road as you get to Portree. The couple did the same. Ah, Skye in late September.
