MY LITTLE WINTER PROJECT!!!

Well, the bike is minus its panels and tank, transported up the road all of 1minutes walk! Hopefully sprayed very soon.

The real work is with the rest of the bike. Alot of wiring needs to be tidied up as the guy before did some wierd things!!

Also the frame is going to be sprayed, to match up with the wheels. There is a lot of rust in parts and surface peeling. So we think we will go for smooth hammerite.

I spent Saturday afternoon stripping the bike down to this, with the occasional, help how do I get this bit off!!! then I did a little more on Sunday afternoon whilst Derek was poorly in bed...........ahhhhhh!

:B what I'd realy like for crimbo is a nice warm, powered garage where I could spend some of these dark evenings. It's not much fun trying to do any work by torchlight

sadly its not that warm!!

unless Derek puts the gas heater on then its not too bad. Needs a bit of insulation here and there.

The best part is the size.......slightly larger than a double garage.

Plenty of space to mess around. Thats one reason why Derek would never ever ever move from his house..............well not unless he could take the garage with him

next instalment...........

well the bike has been sprayed, the frame by Derek and considering the engine wasn't removed it has turned out pretty good.

if you compare the last pic...........

at the top of this thread with the one posted above!!! You will see the difference, I did all that de-rusting me-self!!!

Here is another one.........

this time showing off the front mudguard, resprayed by a 'chap up the road' I have added a fender extender to it to help keep the crap off. What a bugger it was to fit too. We decided not to use the screws supplied so just used the sticky stuff with it and Derek put on 'hard as nails' stuff!!!

have got the

tankpad now........very nice.

Derek spent a little while last night sorting out one of the plug sockets.

Someone had damaged the lower thread putting in a plug and it wouldn't sit properly. So ..............now its okay!!!:k

He also has to drill out a bolt that I sheared off:blush: and find one to replace it with.

I think my Saturday afternoon will be spent doing a bit more. I am chomping at the bit now, as the weather has been a little better.

sigh..............

spent ages on Sunday putting on the air filter and housing.........yes..........I know............what takes so long with that?

Having never done it before and working with rather old and worn items its more difficult . What Derek didn't tell me was that I could have replaced the jubillee clips round the air intakes etc!

Never mind, I managed!

Other footrest hangar on, with new bolt:blush:

Now what amazes me is the things that go wrong with a bike when it is not moving!!! for instance, I now need a new Oil switch! Just doesn't work!

I managed to cock up the front brake bleeding:blush: Well, he was struggling to bleed the fluid out and I was at the top topping it up.........when it just went whooosh.......gone in a split second............there was also that horrid air sound!!! big oops!
I wasn't very popular, still I defended myself and refused to make dinner:}
