MotoGP teams back on track at Sepang and Jerez
MotoGP action resumes on Monday with tests to be held at Sepang in Malaysia, and Jerez in Spain. Both venues will play host to MotoGP teams for three days before the winter break, providing one last opportunity for the riders to continue preparations for next season before the end of 2005. It will be the final chance until next year as teams are not permitted to test between the 1st of December until the 20th of January.
The majority of MotoGP teams will run in Malaysia to make the most of the hot weather there. It will be the first test of the pre-season for the Yamaha teams, although others such as Honda, Kawasaki and Suzuki took the chance to test at Valencia after the last Grand Prix of the 2005 season.
It will be another chance to see the new faces of the MotoGP class with rookies such as Dani Pedrosa, Casey Stoner, Randy de Puniet and Chris Vermeulen continuing their adaptation to their new machines.
While the Japanese manufacturers will be working at Sepang, Ducati will test at Jerez with new signing Sete Gibernau and Italian veteran Loris Capirossi in action. Several 250cc outfits will also test at the Spanish circuit from Monday to Wednesday.
