MOTs due can be put off for 6 months but beware !

To help you make up your mind what to do, I personalty fear the vast majority will think and take up
what at first appears to be a gift from Heaven.
BEWARE no one knows when or how much notice you will get as to the end of this amnesty
When it does end there will be a huge demand for mot tests in your local Areas
Testers may well have a 6 month backlog of tests to carry out and if that's the case you may be offered the earliest slot some weeks or months from your phone call
I would suggest you get one ASAP after more public movement is allowed DONT WAIT 6 MONTHS as tempting as it may seem

100% with you on that John. Glad I got mine done on Monday, but my Mrs car will be one of those that come in to this amnesty period.

This may sound a bit arsey, but for those vehicles not affected, will you get an 18 month mot next time around?

The bike runs out 30 Oct but the car is 30 May.

Mrs L,s car runs out 16 May so both of our cars are likely to be affected. Luckily we have a tame MOT tester & we live in a small village, so I'm hoping, much like my shopping trip today, it will be relatively easy.

I went to book a retest on mine today & the lady on reception told me about this, she seemed quite put out that I said I would rather just get it done asap
