We use a repair garage, at work that's at Bruntingthorpe. Drive pat the Valiant Teasing Tina on a regular basis. Shame it won't run again...the runway is now full of cars
Can remember going to Gaydon to watch the displays of the Vulcans based there. I was lucky enough to go on a corporate day when Ford owned Gaydon, now a test facility, a few years, ago. The control tower and Station were exactly as I remember them.James Holland has evolved into an excellent producer and presenter of military related programmes.
Becoming a bit of an institution now.
Who on here remembers going to air shows and watching Lightnings and Vulcans take off......unforgettable
Er, he or she wasn’t ‘waving’....When I lived in Lincoln as a kid.
Vulcans used to fly over every week.
Terrified the feck out of me with the noise
and very low altitude.
Lancaster flew over once and I remember
the pilot waving back at me.
Could have been leading?Er, he or she wasn’t ‘waving’....
I used to bully the van driver to let me do the deliveries on the day the route went near Veovilton in the way home. Then I’d spend and hour or two sat in a layby watching the Harriers doing their practice landings and short run take offs. Technically illegal where I was parked up, but never moved on. They were wonderful to see, all of that weight just hovering seemingly effortlessly. Not, I know, but very impressive. British engineering at its best - take that Argies!Harriers from Yeovilton probably. They used to regularly come over my garden at low altitude on approach to the firing ranges on Salisbury Plain.
In my previous life I looked after Westland which involved trips down to Yeovil.Just before the first lockdown I had to arrange a visit to my place of work for RAF Valley folks.
Was promised a reciprocal day of entertainment with them at Valley.
Sadly covid kicked in, I do hope they won't forget

Never, ever got offered a flight in anything, even a simulator
Was always amazed at the state of wrecked helicopters they had that were economically via to repair. Barely recognisable as helicopters.
