Well grant is a top bloke that's for sure! Passed mot, got picked up, talked through the bike, didn't wait to take pics just wanted to jump on 'Anne' ride her like a dirty beast...

Ok she's no oil painting but mechanically seems sweet as a nut, this is fine as its for a really long commute. Never ridden a bird before and not had a road bike for 6ish years...

So off I set, get cramp in the first minute, wrist starts killing me, sweating like something from deliverance... And start thinking was this a good idea! Mind you it's on roads I don't know ever changing from 30-40-30-50 on a bike I don't know.... Anyway then I hits an a road that was a little empty it went something like this......

Ffffoooooooookkkkkk meeeeee!

After the first hour I got in the swing of it, after the second things started to feel pretty good.. So I turned a 4 hour motorway trip into a 7 hour more smiles per mile stopping to have a fag and grin stupidly, take on water and back to a roads 380 mile journey home!

Niicceeee love it! Such a great bike to ride handles so well, better than please, I think drop foot pages and risers are in order, managed to drop me lid like a prat and broke it, so need to replace that first. Then on to jaws!

my initial thoughts when I first switched to a Bird from a ST1100 were that I needed dropped pegs and bar risers as it was a pain in the neck especially around town but around 30k odd miles later on Birds I still havent fitted them.

Took a couple of weeks/thou miles or so to adapt and not looked back.

Best mod I've made comfort wise is to splash out on a Melboy seat

Thanks guys, chuffed right bike for the right money so all is well.

Although I have renewed my hatred for scott oilers, when I opened the garage and found a nice line of oil... Any tips on these? didn't look like an engine oil leak despite more being at the front sprocket.

Got a green card for the weekend so going for a nice long ride with the tarp and sleeping bag :)
