My Granny hated Mick McManus with a passion but loved Les Kellet (sp). He was real real laugh in the ring.
Saw Kendo Nagasaki and Count Bartelli at the pier in Cleethorpes circa 1972.
OK we know it was all staged entertainment but Count Bartelli left the ring with his eye and forehead cut. Sometimes it was for real.

good looking AND modest
Mick McManus his "gimmick" was he didn't like people "pulling/rubbing" his cauliflower ears, if he was winning he would "throw a wobbly" and lose the match, or if he was losing and the opponent "rubbed" them he would win!!
how about the "Royal Brothers" any one remember them?? :dunno:

fook sake....

We are all showing our age now arent we ???

I met Billy Two Rivers on Stockport station when I was 7 years old (that dates him & me...LOL)

When Mick McManus & Les Kellett were "performing" at Weymouth in the summer, they both used to stay at my Aunti Barbara's hotel (the Bristol) on the seafront... Things were never dull when they were staying...LOL

Cheers,

Rolfy

Mr Breaks had a viscious arm lock that all submitted to whenever they were unfortunate to be placed in it. We adapted this for Kung Fu freestyle and it works a treat still. It makes me mince just thinking about it.

well dont think about it then !!!
