Marking out the pitches

I was walking miss Molly around the local playing fields today and noticed the workmen marking out the shin kickers and shirt pullers pitches.

Surely there is no outside activities going in during lockdown?

I asked the question why are you doing it. Apparently it is so the lines don’t get grown over and have to be redone when lockdown is ended. A waste of taxpayers money as far as I’m concerned.

Council pitches generate a lot of money for the Council so it is right they keep up the maintenance

It maybe Simon that it’s a case of light maintenance frequently is more cost effective than putting it right when it’s fooked, bit like servicing your bike regularly rather than rebuilding your engine. Dunno, just a thought.
Mind you the logic of council decisions can be baffling to us mere mortals.

As someone who has marked out football pitches from scratch I would totally endorse keeping the lines maintained.

A right royal pain in the neck of a job!

I got there about 40 years ago :jaja-no:

Shirt lifting bad acting divers should be banned & all pitches turned into motorcross tracks imo (y)
