Lowes and Guintoli Get Set for Goodwood

Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK riders Alex Lowes and Sylvain Guintoli will swap their usual tracks for the famous Goodwood House hill-climb this weekend, as the pair participate in the annual Festival of Speed.

Set to appear with their race-replica YZF-R1, Lowes and Guintoli will delight the crowds with two trips across Lord March's estate each throughout the four-day event which begins on Thursday 23rd June.

Guintoli will visit the UK event on Saturday 25th June and can be seen in action aboard his Yamaha as part of the motorcycle exhibition at 10:45 and 14:55 local time. Lowes will join the event on Sunday 26th, taking to the hill on the YZF-R1 at 11:35 and 15:15.

Rising 300ft from its starting point, the 1,860m technically challenging and iconic course snakes its way across the Goodwood Estate and in front of the main house. Eager fans line the route to watch the breath-taking procession of famous and talented riders, drivers and machines as this year's event presents its 'Full Throttle - The Endless Pursuit of Power' theme to the crowds.

Alex Lowes
"The Festival of Speed is always a great event to be involved in so I'm looking forward to representing Yamaha there this year and having some fun on the hill with the YZF-R1. The public support is always special as it is a home event so I will try to put on a good show!"
Sylvain Guintoli
"I'm so excited to be back at the Festival of Speed! Obviously this year I won't be beating my personal best on the timed climb but I'm still looking forward to riding the YZF-R1 for the first time since my accident at Imola. I can't wait!"

The ?Kentucky Kid? will take on the legendary Goodwood House hillclimb aboard the Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade SP he is currently racing in his rookie World Superbike season. He will do it four times during the weekend: the first two on Saturday the 25th of June at 9:55 and 13:50, with the other two being scheduled for Sunday at 10:45 and 14:30.

He will also take part in a series of media activities, including two Q&A sessions at the Honda stand, one on Saturday at 16:30 and the other at 10:00 the following day.

This weekend I?ll be at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, an event I took part in back in 2005. This time I will be riding my Fireblade up the hill and this is something I am looking forward to because it?s truly a great event. There are so many legendary machines there as well as drivers and riders who have made history. It?s definitely going to be quite different from a racing weekend and I?ll surely try to have some fun!
