A two year old girl has died after falling from her pony whilst taking part in the bedale hunt.
Wtf did the parents think it appropriate for a two year old to be riding without very close supervision?
Wtf did they allow her to take part in an illegal & barbaric hunt?
Every adult on that hunt should be charged with manslaughter.

The parents and the hunt ‘supervisor’ and organiser should be in some hot water but I don’t see how or why every adult should be done for manslaughter. As tragic as it is, that’s stretching things a bit.

Fox hunting is illegal.

If you witness a crime being committed & do nothing to prevent it then you can be prosecuted (unless the law has changed)

I think you are confusing the ‘joint enterprise’ law derek. That says if you participate in (not witness) a crime you can be deemed as culpable as the perpetrator. For example if you drive someone to a location where you know they are going to murder someone you are equally guilty of murder as the murderer.

Much as I totally despise the ‘tally ho’ hunting world I haven’t seen anything to suggest anything illegal was going on.

Its beyond my immediate comprehension how a two year old can fall from a pony. It is similar to seeing nippers being carried on motorbikes. While coming back from IoW last week I witnessed a trike rider with a nipper sitting on his lap. I ‘had words’ with a gent who was charging round a nature trail down here on a quad with two nippers on the back, none of them in more than shorts and tee shirts. Totally wrong and 100% irresponsible.

I think you need to do some research on what the Bedale hunt actually is ;)
.............................................

Tragic for all concerned I agree but Derek above all should know horses can be willful and dangerous at times as with any large animal

As I don't know the facts of the accident I wont comment much on the legalities of letting a 2 year old loose with even the smallest of ponies but will say it does seem to me to be far too young an age to be around any large animal without very close adult supervision, even so negligence of some sort if proven is the only charge I can think of that might fit and even then i honestly dont see the point

Some hunts no longer hunt foxes but ride the route for pleasure, the bedale hunt still hunt foxes & is still a target for saboteurs.

Wrong again they trail hunt as allowed by law but don't let FACTS get in the way of a good story will you

Most hunts and a lot of shooting sports are under threat from sabs 90% of the tree hugging twats know nothing about the countryside only visit to cause trouble and deserve a damn good poke in the eye with a sharp stick

Don’t believe all you read, the Bedale hunt still hunt foxes.
I have no problem with people shooting animals to eat but I cannot abide cruelty & fox hunting is barbaric & anybody who enjoys terrorising & chasing an animal until it’s lungs are on the point of bursting & then watching as it’s torn to shreds are complete & utter morons.

~1 Don't believe all you read, the Beadale hunt trail hunt, the focus has been on them long enough that most members would be in jail by now if it were any different, the bloody sabs will tell you different but it simply isnt true

~2 Foxes are one of the few animals apart from humans that will kill for the sake of it rather than because they are hungry Eg every hen in a coup dead and torn to shreds but only 1 or maybe 2 taken
I have seen it more times than I care to remember with hens, domestic rabbits and even small pups, I don't feel sorry for the fox that gets shot when it causes a problem .... beautiful creature with a black heart

Having said all that I do however agree that hunting with dogs in the sense you mean is not acceptable causing suffering to any animal however nasty is not the right thing to do, kill it cleanly when it becomes a problem and leave it at that, no need for a song and dance from so called "gentlemen"

On to sodding sabs what an utter cunch of bunts they turned out to be attacking farms and other animal related operations with absolutely no clue as to the consequences of their actions
A prime example of this was releasing a few hundred mink local to where I used to live (another animal that will kill for no reason)
I 100% disagree with the raising of mink for some tarts fur collar and a large profit, which is what it amounts to, but the actions of the sabs destroyed the local bird, fish and smaller mammal population to the extent that it still hasn't recovered over 10 years on, killing the mink however distasteful that may seem would have been a better option all round and the result the same for those raising them (loss of profit and closure) but without devastating the environmental impact

The bedale hunt has some very high ranking members & that is how they get away with hunting foxes, I am led to believe that they were one of the hunts that were breeding foxes for the hunt.
Not all sabs can be tarred with the same brush, a well organised sab group will pre-empt the course & lay distracting scents like aniseed to confuse the hounds & will not be seen on the day of the hunt.
Foxes do what foxes do, that’s their nature like cats catching mice & birds & toying with them before killing them.

Yarp... Killing foxes for sport and under the guise of you are doing the farming community a service is utter caveman bollox. It's the privileged twats that think their actions are oblivious to the world. Outdated traditional shite.
Feck off to Africa and try that bullshit
with a pack of hyenas or pride of lions.
Now that would be a sport I could watch.
I wouldn't be cheering for the clueless
feckin toffs either....Wankers.

Think the replies have gone off track

It was a post about a 2 year old riding with ‘her own’ pony …. Which was ‘spooked’ and threw her off and died

A 2 year old girl dying ….
A 2 year old girl having her own pony
A 2 year old girl riding a pony without an adult holding her on

Each of these is shocking in itself…. But all 3 ????

My nine year year old Granddaughter rides but only when supervised, a horse/pony is too strong for an adult so a child would have no chance if the horse/pony decided to play up.
The pony that we have loaned to riding for the disabled is classed as bombproof, behaves perfectly, the problem with that is it breeds complacency, my eldest daughter was riding him one summer & he suddenly reared & threw her off, we found out he’d been stung in a delicate area by a wasp.
