Looks to me like he was taken out of context and his quotes were twisted by the likes of the Daily Mail.

I could be wrong here so happy to be corrected, but if I've read it correctly he said the lives of his kids and grandkids were 'more valuable because they have more of it in front of them'. It amounts to the same thing, I get that, but changing the words makes him look inhuman when I'm not sure that was his intention.

You’re correct Paul I watched the whole program on tv, I’ve not got a lot of time for the remainer blairite twat but in this instance I agreed with his sentiment, after all what parent would value their own life over and above that of their children, also not forgetting that some clinicians have to deal with these extremely hard choices every day especially if resources are limited. It’s really an extreme example of taking a perfectly lucid statement out of context and selectively weaponising it, not even journalism just sensational provocation designed to outrage.
Never fails to amaze me to see how low the press can stoop, does boil my piss somewhat.
