Why did I say???
'Yes, I can do that, Im not too old (42), Im not too fat (16 1/2 stone)....!'

Recent release of 'Run Fatboy Run' springs to mind!

7 weeks to go ! AAARRRGGGGHHHHHH

Training is slow and very painful.....
How far exactly is 26.2 miles???
Can I get the bus??
Why has my wife increased my Life insurance policy??
Why are my legs SO MUCH slower than I remembered them to be?
When do the stewards take down the 'run this way' signs???
Can I ride the 'Bird along the course instead???

I will run (read 'walk a bit'.... ! Or should that be 'walk a LOT run a bit and crawl'???) the London Marathon on April 13th, hoping to beat the deep sea diver...!

Could I be SO CHEEKY and put my sponsorship page on here....?
Maybe I should NOT mention it???
OK I WONT MENTION www.runningsponsorme.org/darren That would be just too cheeky ;-)

By the way IF anyone happen to be interested Im doing it for CANCER RESEARCH UK
Thank you for looking and Im awfully sorry If I have been too damn cheeky!

Me and my old man will sponsor you fella.

I run 2 miles most nights, hence I box so I have too. Don?t rush, keep a steady pace. Get yourself a ipod or something. It helps no end if you have music to encourage you, without a ipod I don?t think I could run, it keeps me focused.

I would advice eating a big meal the night before you run, before 7pm if you can. Also have a glass of water before you go bed. Get as much as you can, helps no end with my boxing. 3-4 hours before you run eat nothing apart from fruit. If you eat 3-4 hours before you run it just sits in your belly and weighs you down so you will find its so harder to run.

Get yourself the best ability that you can, eat plenty of potatoes, eggs, tuna, rice, fruit, yogurts, chicken, veg, nuts , bread e.t.c and drink lots of water and milk. Don?t also forget to get yourself mentally prepared. I try to go by ? never back down, never give up ?

For running practice start running 2 miles. If you do this everyday for a week you will start to notice it gets easier and you don?t get worn out as easy. Once you get to this stage step it up to 3mile, 4 mile, 5 mile and so on.

Just out of interest what training are you doing??

Matty.
