Seems to be a lot of almost childish gimiky LED lights. The one that annoys me most is the indicator which "scrolls" in the direction of turning.

I quite like the Audi lights that do that, A gimmick I'm sure but I still quite like them!

I personally don't mind them but the Missus whines on about them every time she sees them. Our commute into work would be much less stressful if they didn't exist.

So you are saying life would be less stressful without the Missus!

Only when we're following a car with those flashy LED lights,

or she sees a car approaching with one headlight out,

or she's driving 2ft off the bumper of the car in front...

I love the scrolling indicators on Audis.

Good reason to buy one on its own!!

However, I hate the silly Christmas tree arrangements on the front of a lot of cheap cars.

The one that gets to me is the strobing brake light, I find it so annoying I find myself watching it and nothing else!

Too much of a distraction!

Wonder what would happen to somebody that has epilepsy following behind?

The reason for the scrolling lights on Audis is to increase their visibility to other road users; given the way that the wankers who own Audis drive, I'm not sure it matters but they certainly draw attention to the car.

LED headlights in general are more efficient that their xenon predecessors and don't heat the lenses up to such ridiculous temperatures. This in turn minimises the need for headlight washers. There were cases of xenons blowing following the build-up of sufficient crud on the headlight covers to cause a reflection of the heat back at the bulbs.

You’re starting to sound like Beaker, promotion to the upper tier is imminent.

I must admit I like the LED lights on the front of cars but hate the scrolling indicators :kitt-kit:

Hate all the newer type lights front or rear, too bright & tend to flash (or appear to) as the car goes over bumps way to distracting & on occasion painful for my light sensitive eyes, smash the lot of them I say :p

weird - my missus absolutely hates them too...

What really grinds my gears is the too-bright LED side lights; Aren't side lights supposed to be 5 watts? Oh, yes, they're tagged as day running lights, but some are blinding behind a rain-spattered visor...

Those are usually the aftermarket ones fitted to jacked-up Corsas by spotty wankers.

I had something similar on my Merc. However, they only strobe when braking particularly heavily. If someone has epilepsy, I thought they're licence was taken away so they shouldn't be driving anyway.*

*I'm not a doctor. There may be several different types of epilepsy, dunno, but a burd I knew many moons ago had her licence taken away because she was diagnosed with epilepsy. Now, whether it was a temporary thing or if it applied to her 'type' of epilepsy, I don't know. This was back in 1997 and a lot has changed since then.

As an aftermarket job that is a complete pile of poo. Fixing a problem that doesn't exist.

As powlo says, many cars now have brake lights that 'strobe' when the brakes are applied very heavily - can see the point of that.

If you have an epileptic in the passenger seat who then has a 'turn' would that not be distracting enough?
