Le-Mans GP / Brittany

Going to Le-mans for the GP in May, meeting up with Eric (DA) and Jon (Lebowski) and the girls for the race weekend .

We have managed to arrange some more time off work so we are going to stay over for the rest of the week (while the others have to go home .. snigger ) and have a look round the Brittany area...

If any of you experienced touring chaps can put me wise of places to see, stay and routes to ride etc etc I would be eternally grateful as I haven't a clue about the area ..

we are going back over in september ish for the Normandy run so would prefer to stay in Brittany if poss,

dont mind a scenic route back up to the tunnel tho :-0)

Cor Blimey M8 - yer askin' a biggie there!

Brittany's a big place and it's also got the longest coastline in France, so there's loads to do and see - it just depends what you prefer. The places we've visited include Carnac (megalithic stones etc.), Lassay (castle), Le Mont Saint Michel... as well as the Normandy beaches and the blockhouse at Eperleques. I?d recommend them all ? but you might not like the sort of things that Lorraine and I like to do, so it?s a bit awkward.

Of course - ya could just stuff yer face wi' wine/beer 'n' grub - which is what we did most of the time anyway! :-0)

Gladya sorted for Le Mans, M8. See ya there - if not before! :yo:

No biggie really Eric, just some nice interesting places to visit and some nice roads to get us there..

Ill have a look in mapsource and see if I can put a route together with the places you mentioned mate ..

Anyone know any more places we should see while we are there ?? :-0)

Now I have got to get saving for my new 'J T' shirt ... wont metion Rossi just yet tho, cos I hate to see grown men cry ... and royalty :p

:k:k

Edit: I always thought Lassay was a collie dog, not a castle ?? h1d1ng2

Hey Eric me ole mucker..

whats the crack with the bike parking at the circuit, Jons heard its very dodgey

do we have to book a secure car park or summat mate ??? :xm

We're using the secure parking that came with the Privilege Tribune passes we got this year.. Parked within two minutes walk of the circuit last year - in the "general" secure parking, which was excellent. Before they let you leave, they even make you take your key out to start your bike to make sure it's really yours! k1ap Lots of folk parked immediately outside the circuit, too, on the main road. Maybe they're the ones who had problems!:dunno:

If you use the secure parking, you shouldn't have any grief, M8 - no booking required, as far as I recall! :yo:

Heard you are a dab hand at packing your stilettos - how do you walk in those things????

I wouldn't recommend wearing them to the race though as if it rains it can get quite muddy b0x1
