I'VE GOT MY BIRD!!!!!!!! (as described here in this thread http://www.superblackbird.org/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4385)

All bog standard (beside the wheels painted candy red, nice paint jod so I can live with it), mint condition, it's only 3 years oldand it was used only twice the last 1 1/2 year... That's what he said and looking at the bike I believe the Yorkshire lad I bought it from (Andy, great guy BTW, and his bro too)

A fantastic ride back to London, this is a time warp machine...
(except at a petrol station where the bike wouldn't restart, fears in my head, sweat on my forehead, but apparently it's just the battery which didn't recharge after having been drained too much by the alarm in the garage and got empty with me riding it at night, but then arrived home and tried to restart it - worked like a charm so it did recharge on second leg of trip after the petrol station... go figure... experts any idea why?)

Question that might look stupid (but then again they all do to people who have the answer:
How do you adjust the mirrors? Tried to push but didn't work, so is it a case of, just push harder, or is there something clever to help adjust them?
Besides, gonna order light products from them http://www.kriss.com
Any one has tried to fit them? Easy or pain in the bum? Does it suck up too much on the electrics?

I'm also a bit rusty on all matters of accesssories, including security... and reco for the bike cover, best U-lock, or disk lock, anchor point, bazooka...?
Or any other accesssory that I would benefit from/that I don't need but really really want? (the clear indicator lenses and bulbs look really good...)

Voil?, I'm extatic and I have a big grin on my face, beside the fact that there's gonna be a war to collect cheap oil... and do you think we will even have cheaper petrol at the pomp? Yeah right... but some people will be happy that's for sure!

Nice one

you will be very happy with it I`m sure, as to mirrors just move the glass not the frame.

bike accessories.............

My god you have opened up a big discussion!!

If you want anything in particular just do a search through the forum, most topics I think have been covered.

Security in the form of chaines and locks??? Oxford have some good stuff, some of which is 'soldsecure' and may get a little discount on insurance...........I say may, very lightly! I just bought Derek an Oxford Omega disk lock from ebay. A chap was selling stock on there. Damn good disk lock. Most bike shops sell Oxford products.

OXFORD their site will give you details of the nearest dealer to you.

Ground anchors can be found in M&P and MPS catalogues or just stick the word ground anchors in to a search engine on your computer and see what it comes up with.

Derek uses a metal hoop which is incredibly thick, he sunk it into concrete in his garage so only half is visible. He uses that with a chain. The weakest part being the chain. Or he chains it to my bike and then there's no way they would take his with mine :B

M&P

MPS

they will also sell bike covers. You may need to order a catalogue from them which would make it easier to browse. Then you can buy lots of other things too!!!

Also try this place.........

BUSTERS ACCESSORIES

Hope this helps a little

A big thank you!

Thanks a lot to all for all your help! The bike not wanting to restart happened again today, again when engine was hot (apparently no prob when starting from cold...)... When I try to start it, it does a very fast click click click sound, the the green light with the key icon beside it lights up, together with the F1 light... But apparently the battery is charged otherwise it wouldn't start again later and would do the same thing(?) I bumpstarted it on both occasions and when arrived to destination I stopped the engine and tested if I could start it again... it did without any problem.

Did that happened to any of you? What do you think this could come from? Any help appreciated! (I'll also post in the Help Forum)

This sounds like a bad earth twixt the engine and the frame.. or maybe something as simple as a lose battery terminal even ..
However, if you bought it from a dealer then get back there double quick and moan like hell.. if you bought it privately, contact the guy and ask what the hell is going on !
