Mate and I have got a 3 day pass out on the bikes @tu*. Intend heading north from Cheshire, up through the Lakes and into Scotland, west coast area. Would like to run up to Glencoe and then back down the west coast.
Maybe to far? :dunno: Any thoughts, ideas experiences gratefully received.
Going either end of April start of May or end of May first 2 days of June.

Jono, fook the Lakes at that time of year mate, it'll be chocker. Besides, and feel free to give me stick anyone, but as beautiful as the Lakes are and as much as I enjoy it there, there's only so many decent Bird roads and they are usually heavy with tourist traffic. Get off the beaten track and then all you have to do is find one camper van and again ya fekked for miles.

Why not nail it up as far as Kendal then A6 Shap road to Penrith. It'd then be rude not to ride Hartside, Alston then North, fantastic roads up to Longtown and the Borders. From there you can get into Scotchland proper and the West Coast is then ya lobster.

Three day pass out? So that's 2 night stops. You'll really need the 2 nights in Scotland if you're going to enjoy the West coast.

"Run UP to Glencoe and then back DOWN the West coast" Nah, get UP the West coast from Glencoe, as it just gets stupidly and unbelievably better and better and better til ya a gibbering giggling wreck.

That's my two pennorth. :-:
