I recently went to London on my blackbird fully loaded with paniers a tank bag and my girlfriend on the back the bike handled really well and felt totally safe and stable at motorway speeds . In my ignorance i presumed the bike could take the weight as i am a bit lardy,we are now planning a trip to Wales so i checked the max load of 185 kg which is me and my girlfriend alone not including the luggage, after having no probs getting to London and back need i be concerned by overloading?:dunno:

might be an idea to put this thread in the "help" section - more peeps look in there. it's never bothered me taking pillion and luggage... which must have come to over 185 - though not be much admittedly.

feckin ell... I must be 185kg on me own...

Then add Jan & the luggage...

never had a problem with the bird touring around UK & the continent...

I have swapped the springs for Ohlins units, and had it set up correctly, but with all our kit on and us it still pulls 155 to 160 (indicated) on the Autobahn:bow:

Nowt wrong wi'dat says I...:yo:

Cheers,

Cheers bud sometimes i think these weight limits are based on the little japanese guys that make the bikes like i said the bird felt safe as houses fully loaded, just wanted to be sure

Answering to nobody
I'm 125k, Mrs is 45k and my luggage on the Catalunya trip weighed as much as her if not a touch more. Keep the heavy stuff LOW in the side boxes and put the lighter bits in the top box.

Or.........

Post the Mrs to the location via Air Freight such as 'Monarch Airlines'

agree to an extent John, :dunno: but in my case it DEFINITELY isn't so!! :t I suppose it's a bit like Mucky Santa says  , you cant tell the bike your riding is out of date/superseded/wanting, until you ride others!!

No such thingy on a superblackbird,as Rolfy say's. I had a three piece suite,
