What a lovely world we live in.....just picked this up from the VFR site.

Apparently the statue of Joey had IRA slogans daubed over it, the collection box was broken open and the memorial plaque was smashed with a sledghammer.

Catch the scum and give them a taste of their bloody sledgehammer.

Joey's family must be devastated to learn of this disgusting act of desicration. The scum who have daubed this shite on his memorial are forgetting one very important fact, Joey Dunlop crossed every political divide in NI and was a hero to all, myself included. It did not matter what religion he was, he was a hero to all young and old, and for the first time in my life I was proud to say he came from N.Ireland and so did I.
In the dark days of the troubles he brought so much enjoyment and hence light to so many people and made thousands of kids instant wanna bees.
Gave them somthing other to think about than the trouble that blighted every day life.
Should any of Joey`s family, friends or supporters read this then please know that he gave light to all, may his memory always be for that cheeky grin and not some pathetic crap daubed on his memorial . It may have tarnished his memorial stone but it could never tarnish his reputation.
