too fookin real.
As some of you know, I work in a private rehab hospital.
A patient was confirmed with covid-19 as of yesterday and is away at the local hospital. His chances of survival are pretty slim.
We are on lock down and are all very stressed by the situation.
I read my company e-mails this morning and was shocked to see that 4 nurses and 2 support workers have passed away due to catching this virus.
at different hospitals and in various regional areas. We have many in the UK.
I have already phoned the Mrs....
It's a tad scary.:(

I was asked to sit on a bedwatch the other day, 12.75 hours sitting in a side ward with a prisoner for £22 per hour, under normal circumstances I possibly would have done it but no way am I going anywhere near a hospital if I can help it whilst this is going on.

Big problem here (and there) is PPE.
Sadly health workers have died here too.

What seems to have happened also is that they cleared the hospital beds and put many into nursing homes. Now it is believed that these people brought the virus with them.

As you say, all very scary.

These are the hard facts of life that those of us who have escaped the virus (so far) cannot comprehend.

Not just I, but all visitors to this site, seen and unseen, owe the deepest gratitude to those who put themselves in peril on our behalf.

God Bless.

Thank you.

Every Thursday at 8pm when we are stood in our gardens clapping, we are told it is for all key workers, not wishing to denigrate the work of other key workers including myself but I am solely applauding our NHS staff who are bravely going to work knowing that the slightest slip with their handling of ppe/patients etc could have dire consequences for them & their families, hopefully when this is all over they will get the financial recognition they thoroughly deserve.

I started clapping purely for the NHS, but now it's for anyone in public service on the frontline (not REMF's and management who are safe away from the shit). By that I mean those who were already doing a difficult and/or dangerous job, but who are now threatened by the complication of Covid-19 while working too close to others and with no, or next to no, PPE to protect them.

That includes you, ya grumpy old git.:clap::clap:

My applause is for anyone who is putting themselves on the line.

Can't see any reason to start specifying who is worthy or not.

I sympathise with you.

I am locked up at home in realativley safe isolation because of underlying health conditions, and it still scares the living crap out of me, so I cannot even start to imagine what you guys onthe front lime must be thinking and feeling.

I have some appreciation as my mother was in nursing for 45 years and died in service, but she never faced anything like this.

You have my full support and admiration. Stay safe.

We can't even use our sense of humour to say "When this is all over we will look back and laugh" because I do not ever think it is something we will take any pleasure from other than the piss take out of the politicians.

Stay safe, and thank you (y)
