I don't get the Irish bar either. Keep well clear. I was in a bar in some Spanish resort (all the same to me) when guy with guitar starts singing Irish songs from 70s.
"Anybody here from Ireland" couldn't wait to get out.
Being a fellow Mick, I asked Mrs P and she said that a lot of pilots and crew when down route tend to go to the local Irish bar because it's a given that someone there will speak English. She avoids Irish bars like the plague, too.

Southern Ireland also has a fair smattering of Spanish ancestry, ex Spanish Armada sailors

He did indeed. However, with every other ethnic group demanding rights for this, that and other I'd like to see the Native Americans have a bit more. Like I said, it's their country after all.
You should read "Bury my heart at Wounded Knee". The way the American government went about the systematic pacification of the Indian tribes would be considered a war crime and borderline genocide today.

But Bidens family have been traced to Cambridgeshire.. Sod all to do with Eire
Well it's said here he has ancestors in County Mayo and Meath.
At one time the government gave people from the west land in Meath. There was an Irish speaking area in Meath. (Not sure what it's like now.)
So there could be a connection.
I don't know if it's his mother's or father's side of the family.
He did visit Ballina on Mayo some years ago and his cousins went to meet him in NY.
There is a mural of him in Ballina which was on CNN news.

So he's ours, pi$$ off:2guns:

Indeed, a bloody eye opener!
Mate of mine loaned me a copy in the early 70s, fucking shameful, certainly shines a light on the American governments policies at the time and as you say, not in a way that covers them in glory, rather the opposite in fact.

Yep. An absolutely heartbreaking book to read.

Neither do most Americans
I can't imagine many Americans having Australian ancestry.

Sounds like you believe Trump
Not sure I'd go that far but I certainly do not believe anything the Democrats have said in the last 20 years or so. Nothing good can come out of any pantomime with the likes of Nancy Pelosi amongst the cast of characters.

You prefer Sarah Palin

Are you listening to what senior Republicans are saying. They are scared to say Biden has won.
Pelosi wouldn't agree the financial deal because the money was not going to people who needed it.

Trumps latest tweet
I WON THE ELECTION.

He just fired "head of election" because he said it was the most secure election.

He's fired all the experienced guys in Pentagon.

He's withdrawing troops leaving remainder exposed and he wants to bomb Iraq now before he goes, all against military advice.

He had a medical advisor who was basically saying there was no virus.

Monty Python couldn't think it up.
