What is the point of keeping two metres apart when a sneeze or cough carries at least ten foot?
Not if you sneeze or cough into a hankie/tissue and dispose of it safely.

That has also been government advice for quite some time now.

As well as bleeding obvious.

H5N1 was from China as well. Three in the last 15 or so years, all from China. None of this is coincidence.

Stock markets crashing, assets ripe for the picking, follow the money.
I agree not coincidence, it would certainly suit their long term ambitions.

Still kickin' it!
You may Be right but it is still a dumb question to ask - if the questioner knew something they should ask an appropriate question rather than going on a fishing trip. They might have been given an answer rather than being closed down
I never said it was or wasn’t (as you put it) “a dumb question”. I simply indicated that I didn’t agree with you by clicking “don’t agree” button.

In any case, the question itself seems to have evoked a "flight" response that merits further discussion, if not investigation.

Stuff like this is just plain unhelpful at the moment.
That’s your opinion, which, no doubt, deserves a certain amount of respect; but it adds nothing useful or positive to the debate.

The answer to pretty much every question asked at the moment can be answered by one of the following;

A) keep two meters apart (answers 95% of questions asked by the media)
B) there is plenty food and other supplies to meet daily needs if people stop panic buying
C) we will have to look at enforcing behaviours if everyone can't do the simplest of things that we are asking them to do
D) 42

In my opinion.

A) What, in your opinion, is the true and accurate current level of COVID-19 virus infection in the UK?

B) Based on your answer to the first question; what is your estimate of the potential rate of infection increase, expressed as additional infections per day?

C) Of those potential infections, can you estimate, either, a potential increase, or a decrease, in deaths per day (bearing in mind that this potential figure is not constant on a “country to country” basis using confirmed infections as an indicator?

D) Why are you so flippant about something that is killing people as we speak?

Personally I think this is the first proven case of a digital virus taking real world form.

I'm now waiting confidently for Norton, Kaspersky, Bitdefender and the rest to issue an update to sort it.

P.S. If you're one of those unfortunates who has McAfee then you're basically fecked. :D

Right, to set the record straight, I’ve been out and had a word with my Norton and any possibility of an update is not coming soon. :risas3:

Believe it or not many people do not carry tissues & I have witnessed people of all ages, races & genders coughing & sneezing & not even attempting to cover it.

Maybe the US is behind it all, trying to destroy the Chinese economy? remember agent orange.

On the other hand it could be mother nature getting her own back for the way humans have destroyed the planet.

or it could have been something someone caught from a bat or snake.

take your choice :couch:

Apparently "You've been Tangoed" was the original marketing line for Agent Orange.

In my opinion it was a dumb question - I don't recall suggesting that you may or may not have thought it was a dumb question. Any stuff that suggests conspiracy theory or spreads rumour is unhelpful. It adds nothing positive to the debate whatsoever. It does the opposite - sucks up energy and distracts from the task in hand. That's my opinion.

A) no idea whatsoever. Which is why I listen to and follow government advice - they are doing their best and have the best people advising them
B) see A)
C) see A)
D) not sure why I am singled out - this site I said littered with 'humour' on this subject, including since your post. Are you going to chastise them??

The point is we all have to do what's right, and that includes not spreading misinformation, speculating, spreading conspiracy theories or any other forms of mischief. The issues are far too big.

Thanks for the lecture.

You’re not singled out. You just constantly try to trample your way to the front, so you’re pretty hard to ignore.

March 22 — Global cases of COVID-19 surpass 300,000. It took over three months to reach the first 100,000 confirmed cases, 12 days to reach 200,000 and three days to reach 300,000.

I really couldn't give a flying f*ck where it came from at the moment. The fact is it's here now and we have to deal with it.
Do your bit by playing by the rules and the vast majority of us will make it through this.

Once it's over, the survivors can argue till they're sick over who's to blame.

Pensions providers must be happy with the prospect of fewer getting that far although investments losing value, but they will recover at some point.
