Mmm. Interesting, I told them about all the stuff on my bike ( not much to be honest) and they didn't seem bothered.
But...
It is Month end, may be some figures to catch up on ??
I will have a go at Honda uk and see if they match it, then tell em to sod off.
( unless its worth something to me).

How things have changed, I was with Hasting when I had the ZX9R. Bought the Bird and they would not cover me!!!!! Had to switch Insurance companies. They would have covered me on a Busa or ZX12 but not a Bird. Ended up going with Devit been with them ever since, but looks like might change this year.

How old are you and where do you live??

Murt,

I did the "playing them off each other game" this year and ended up with
?144 f/c with protected ncd aged 35 9ish yrs no claims & 250 xs
Saved all that money then threw the fooker down the road, with the help of a multi tasker of course %$fan

I was well happy with the premium until I had to claim on it...

99 T plate FI Im sure youll remember it, I nearly fell over it laughing at my dad barrie on the spring-Lakes run after he made an utter twat of him self.

Payout? ?3600 minus the ?250xs:bandit:

Sometimes things that look too good turn out to be:rolleyes:
Im still in discussions with biketeam re the value but not holding out too much hope.....

Still Might have some recourse via the blind multi tasker. There will be a fight there too though as ive just found that she will not be prosecuted as she"didnt see you":shooter:

Am I pissed off or what!!!

Anyway to get back to the thread hope you get a good deal, one that gives results should the %$fan ........
Anyway, take care and ride safe,

Neil.

if its any consolation, I just got back my excess from a lorry driver who didnt see me either. Its taken a year. They didnt prosecute him either as he negotiated to go on a driver improvement programme:mad:

Cheers Amex.
Just feeling a bit sorry for myself,

Got my payout quite quickly once I managed to fill in the form (5 weeks in hospital) but I spent that on an automatic car (BMW 523 i se):lick:
As I cant drive a manual now.
Still need to get the kids to school, and as I strugle to walk more that 150-200 yds at a time, driving is my only option.
Got the union lawers on to it. And to think I was about to cancel my subs as their not worth it:blush:

Probably be a year or two until I can replace (& sit on) the Bird.

Could have easily been a lot worse though, I am writing this afterall:-:

Neil, if you don't stop reminding me about that lakes mishap, I'm going to shove your crutches where the sun don't shine.

You needed help to fall off, at least I managed it on my own.

Just a point to consider mate, after my off on my Bandit I had two years three months away from biking, then I bought the Bird and I found that I was not entitled to any NCB discounts as it was over two years, it may be an idea to get a cheap runaround to keep the insurance going, in that time you will rebuild any NCB that you may have lost and it will be cheaper to insure your next big bike.

Right then, You'd better start a shovin then because I aint gonna let that one go whilst I still get a bite every time I mention it now am I ?man8um

Derek. A good point mate. I did have full no claims, which was protected, so even more to lose if I let it lapse.

My brother has got 3 bikes at the minute(Flash git), one of which is an old KLR600. I might just insure that in the mean time to keep the ncd valid.
