This appeared Inn Me Edd tonight, so I looked it up on YToob and played the “Pt1” bit.

1969. I was being chauffeured home by my buddy, totally "totalled" after a bit of a night out with the lads. The sound was the most exciting thing I’d heard for a long time in the “rock” genre, as, being into funk and soul, “heavy” music had rarely stirred me, but this was different, especially when wrapped in a rocking, rolling, drunken homeward trip through darkness where beer-addled senses are totally defunct of any sense of space, or time, or care, or worry.

I only meant to listen to the “Pt 1” bit, but it rolled on almost seamlessly into the second part and I was swept back to the hazy, smoky days of my youth, when, if somebody said, “Have a drag o’ this!”, you did it. You could trust almost anybody then, in the days when, if you were trusting a wrong ‘un, your mates would never be too far away.

Back then, everybody knew less than they know now.

…And it was that last thought that drew me into this, another journey: another reminder.

...Memories, eh?!

Was that an intro for some programme
“Drifting like a drover, chasing my career.”

I used to sing along with that line when I was younger

Go on, then - if it's not a cattle herder, what is it?
Full marks, even a few lashes as well.
Used be a guy where I grew up who did that. Allegedly he said "I'm more thirsty than hungry after eating that loaf"

I remember him sitting on steps of a house nearby stitching a hole in the knee of his very well worn trousers.

Can't remember him name. Could be Tim Colo - not sure of spelling.
