Mi Edd’s been pretty blank recently (blame the cold) this morning this old classic popped in to say hello.

True story.
1977. Girfriend tells me: I was helping mum to get tea ready, and this record was on.
I'm there, singing along, when suddenly I sense that my mum's staring at me.
I turn to look at her - I'm still singing.
Then... I realise that I'm singing "get back inside me, Romeo, she said."
...Zhoosh... Silence, accompanied by the world's biggest blush!

This appeared Inn Me Edd tonight, so I looked it up on YToob and played the “Pt1” bit.
1969. I was being chauffeured home by my buddy, totally "totalled" after a bit of a night out with the lads. The sound was the most exciting thing I’d heard for a long time in the “rock” genre, as, being into funk and soul, “heavy” music had rarely stirred me, but this was different, especially when wrapped in a rocking, rolling, drunken homeward trip through darkness where beer-addled senses are totally defunct of any sense of space, or time, or care, or worry.
I only meant to listen to the “Pt 1” bit, but it rolled on almost seamlessly into the second part and I was swept back to the hazy, smoky days of my youth, when, if somebody said, “Have a drag o’ this!”, you did it. You could trust almost anybody then, in the days when, if you were trusting a wrong ‘un, your mates would never be too far away.
Back then, everybody knew less than they know now.
…And it was that last thought that drew me into this, another journey: another reminder.
