Understood - but is it correct that"One of Us" was written at the time of Abba's breakup?

I was listening in that context.
It was written after both couples had divorced, it was their 13th & final number 1, quite a bit of their later stuff was influenced by their divorces.

Who taught Iggy Pop and Mick Jagger to dance.....? Like a couple of Thunderbird puppets with half the strings cut. :b1:

I think pretty much their whole songbook was written about failing relationships!!

The Abba Museum in Stockholm is well worth a visit, includes an amazing concert performance by holograms of Abba!!

Am I right in thinking that while she retired a good few yrs back, she still does the occasional concert/appearance?

Just read Wiki, it's unlikely that she has as she's had some life threatening health issues of late.

Still kickin' it!

I’ve watched this video clip three times today and, every time, I was left feeling nothing less than elated (yes, I’m smiling now, as I write).

Having seen Tina Turner perform at the Manchester Apollo, which was one of the venues for the “Private Dancer” tour, Mrs DA responded to a FakeBook comment of mine with a link to setlist.com, a site that presents all manner of data on tours, dates, songs etc. The list of the "Private Dancer" tour venues in the UK covers just one of nineteen pages.

I was astonished by the number of performances, the number of venues and the enormous number of miles that were travelled by the small army of people who provided support for the band – and I was staggered when I considered the levels of stamina, commitment and sheer guts that must have been required by the tiny, tiny group of people who provided the most important element of all for those who had paid money to see them; namely, the live, onstage performers.

When I say “astonished”, what I mean is that I’m silently, head-shakingly, totally blown away by what I’ve learned: so much so that my level of appreciation has increased ten-fold, not only for the “superstars” who attract tens of thousands of fans to each of their shows, but also for the less well-known performers “vanning” around the country to venues ranging in capacity from tens, to hundreds, of patrons.

The next time I find myself applauding a live performance from a travelling band it will be different from those of times gone by. Deeper, more insightful, more educated and much more appreciative of the efforts they must go to, simply to put a smile on my face.

Tina is one of the acts that I really regret not seeing live. I had a chance to,see her at the O2 but the ticket prices were ridiculous, over twice what I paid to see the Stones at the same venue a couple of weeks earlier. Gave it a miss on principle, I heard the place was far from full which is bordering on criminal.

She has amazing dance troupes as well......
