With all the bloody scams I'm getting. First it was emails about parcels with postage to pay before delivery, now I'm getting bombarded with texts for voicemails where I have to go to a strange website to get it instead of ringing my service provider for them.

Give me your bank details and password and I’ll deal with them.

It’s ok they’re not all scammers, it’s only cost me £30,000 so far but I’m about to receive £8,000,000 from a guy in Africa, actually he’s no ordinary guy, he’s a Prince & he chose me to help him.

Wait til you get the automated messages claiming you owe billions to HMRC. Wankers, the lot of them.

I get at least a couple,a,day saying my McAfee (that I haven’t got) is about toexpire.

Putting them in Junk doesn’t seem to,make any difference.

Watch out for scam emails with links to unsubscribe. They're used to harvest email addresses and passwords.

The way it works is this:

You assume that you did have a registered login with whoever sent the email, so you click on the link to unsubscribe and then try your email address and a password that you think would be right.

Statistically most people who fall for this will use a real password that they've used before, somewhere else.

It won't work so you may try again with another password.... or two....

Meanwhile the scammers now have your email address and quite probably a genuine password or two for something else.

They'll then use automated software to try out those passwords on commonly used websites, like banking, Amazon, PayPal, etc.

If you don't use it yet then I would look into using 2 step authentication for any important stuff. That way having your email address and password is nearly always not enough to allow them to hack an account.
