Hi All - hope everybody had a good Chrimbo..............

Regarding the deleted Coffee Shop:

IMHO I think it's great that this has happened.

Yes it's exposed a security risk that needs addressing but it's also really good to log-in and see totally fresh threads for a change. New Year - New Banter. Brilliant!

At the end of the day it's only the Coffee Shop that's been trashed - most of the good reference stuff resides in the Help section anyway.

I'd vote to do a regular clean out of the Coffee Shop as a lot of threads start off sensible and stay on-topic but then soon go haywire due to many of us sabotaging them, I'm guilty of this...............

So howsabout a regular quarterly clean-up? Maybe retain 10 or so of the best threads but ditch the rest? Would help with any capacity issues at Wiz's end for sure.....................

Wasn't you was it Sam? Only joking mate

Not a bad idea Sam, especially if the best threads can be kept "live".

Samster~~

Valid point mate - but remember that a lot of guests and newbies often read back through the old threads!

We're looking at a completely new format forum - could be very soon - quicker...better....easier to locate threads etc etc etc .

Watch this space?

Betcha Barmy Ben's nicked the coffee shop :} :} :}

Nope wasn't me that nicked it!

Actually I must admit that I'm guilty of what Jaws was doing at the Hozzie..............I work from many different locations and often use public PC's to view and post to the forum...........I've never even thought about deleting cookies from these machines.................I've always just killed the browser when finished............anyway that's the beauty of the internet innit.............I can pull my mail and play a part in my fave forum from anywhere in the world!

I think if you "log off" the cookies will be removed automatically.

The log off button is at the bottom right [?] of each page

Hmmmmm - the log-out option only seems to appear on the page that lists the various forums............perhaps it should be everywhere.............
