This was taken on the back road to Tignes ( Normally associated with the ski resort )
The road is about 9500 feet... I found out how horrible altitude sickness is..I was ok on the bike, but when we stopped and I got off I was all kinds of dizzy !

That little round sticker is what I got when we went over Timolsjock pass.. ( which I might add has been rerouted and ruined, AND they charge € 14 toll for the dubious privilege of riding )

I would not be without a Bird, but for sheer lugging of my fat arse and all my gear, the GS takes some beating.......

When I get fully unpacked and sorted I will try and sort out a few more pics

I have the TFT and having no problems at all. I'm finding it an amazing piece of kit and well worth the extra cash. From a purely practical standpoint, the standard dash is way too small; even at the pussy speeds I ride at, I could find myself in a lot of trouble because the numbers on the speedo are much too small

Folk are reporting connection issues with it..
I do not use the speedo at all, but the display on the gps :)

Not sure about side lights!!
I am, they’re awesome. Makes it easier for the twats in cars to see me, not that they should miss me on my crushed Panzer anyway, but hey-ho.

What are the engine bars Paul ?
They do not look like BM ones as the bar protecting the heads is in a better place..
Both Darrell and I have the bm ones and they are very poor

We had a 'biker down' talk at the BMW rally and they brought up the issue of extra lights. I got the feeling they were against. (fireman and cop)

As far as I know they are illegal here.

I find them distracting and feel they impair my spacial judgement.

Thesection of the talk on visual awareness was very interesting - how much we don't see:eek:

I remember reading a study that many drivers don't 'see' green traffic lights, only amber and red.

Presumably in their rear view mirrors.

Standard fit BM, straight from the factory. Is it something to do with mine being the GS Adventure?

The owners handbook warns that the side lights meet the requirements of fog lights and should be used according to the laws in your country. Over here, it's illegal to use fog lights on the road if the visibility is in excess of 100 yards.
