How old is too old?

Went out for a little ride the other evening.

Pulled into a lay-by to take in the view and another Bird was already stopped there.

The gentleman (who was busy bird watching - feathered variety) had bought the Blackbird as a treat for himself, for his 70th birthday!

Nah... a Pan is not for the old, but the saddo's ( stands by for abuse from Steve ! LOL !)

If I live long enough to get too old for the Bird, I think it would have to be a BMW GS of some sort.. Not the old original 800 cos the leccy boot was crap and they are a total shite to kick over,, Proly an 1150 or maybe the 1200..

It is an age thing though. Lately I've started to think longingly about a GS, never tried one, never particularly liked them before, and it's starting to worry me.

Every time I see a BMW I have memories of trying to indicate with the throttle hand, and finding the cancel. WHY WHY WHY?

Clearly the only way to reach your 70th is to not ride a bike. Some tosser today ran a red light on a roundabout in front of me, just before I pulled away into his path. At the next set of lights I pointed this out to him and he said "Oh, did I?".

Oh yeah, and the boxer engine leant the bike to one side when I revved it. Thank got it was just a day loaner whilst my cbr6 was in service!

well at the ripe old age of 33 I don't think you can be too YOUNG

Well I'm 58 this year and haven't had any serious thoughts about ditching the bird. Maybe a Speed Triple or something like that with a more upright riding position in a few years but not yet..... :yo:
