I bought my house 2 years ago and it was in need of modernising, since then i have had some bits and bobs done to it but nothing major up until now.
This weekend should see my new front door followed by all new windows, french doors at the rear (so i can put my bike in the back room ) and then its time for plastering pretty much right through .
Then i'm having the drive way ripped up, old garage removed and a new one put in its place in the way of 30' X 11'. :yo:
The house is a 1928 3 bed semi and its had soooo many coats of paint in its life that all the character has gone from the woodwork and i've forced myself to attack it with a heat gun and paint stripper to bring it back to its former glory (but what a pain in the ass).
I will be looking for a plasterer in the Manchester area and also someone who can lay vinyl, laminate and carpeting (but not until spring).
This may turn into an 'IanRobbo' type bit by bit renovation but i'm really looking forward to the finished result. Pics to follow.
