Just got back from another (short) trip and thought I'd pop in and say "hello" to everyone. This one was to the west coast bash in Bend, Oregon
Didn't you just have a big European one? if there a write-up somewhere that I could read?
Hope you are all having a nice warm (not hot) summer. It's predicted to be near 100 degrees here by Friday. :xm That's a bit too much of a good thing.

It's a bird - could it be any less that great? The more I ride that bike, the more impressed and pleased I am with it.

Im looking forward to another of your "tales of the trip"

The next 2 will be non motorcycle - a sailing (Windjammer) tour of the Caribbean next month and a Visit to Spain in September to ride Andalusian horses (I hadn't been on a horse in 20 yearas when I signed up, so figured I should take some "brush-ip" lessons. Have been doing that for the last couple of months. The best of both worlds - ride the bike up to the stable - ride the horse for an hour - ride the bike back home. :}. Just love it)
The cruise on a sailing ship is a long time dream of mine. This is the ship.

There's even a couple of movies for the truly dedicated' One of the guys had a camera attached to his bike.

The area around Bend and Crater Lake (it truly is a lake in an extinct volcano crater) is really beautiful - with lots of twisty roads. Real cool riding area with relatively few LEO's. - clear enough of them that I broke my own personal speed record (previously 134) - now 149 - probably piddly to some of you guys, but it's the fastest I've ever driven/ridden anything. Quite a rush! Not something I'd do around home with the recently stepped up patrols.
If any of you get the itch to ride the US, I highly reccomend the States of Washington and Oregon - some really cool roads and scenery.

$%3un 99 degrees today - still in the hi 80's at 11 p.m. :violin: :xm

Hey - your'e making us jealous

I guess jealousy is at least partially a function of where you live. I've always envied people who live where you do. You have access to Ireland, Scotland and continental Europe - and you can even take your own bike. If you're especially adventurous you can even do Eastern Europe (Russia), etc. and If you're really brave, the middle East - all on your own bike. There's so much to see. You are really lucky to have all that practically in your backyard.

Fair point Terry
I have a friend who lives in Istanbul who wants to fly here and ride a bike back home.
I'm invited just got to work out the logistics of getting Alison and the kids along as well.

My boss has just spent a year cruising round the Caribbean on his 52ft ketch, you've just missed him, he arrived in Portugal today after his return crossing. According to him you MUST go to St Barts, he waxed really lyrical about that island and now wants to buy a house there.

Concur on the Washington & Oregon scenery, went out about 8 yrs ago to visit my sister near Portland, and did the Mount St Helen's and Multnomah Falls trips amongst others. Lord of the Rings 'Mordor' came to mind at Mount St Helens.

Mind you, we found Oregon to be much like Wales, but more spread out and warmer. Not drier though, State jokes are mostly concerned with rain I gather.

Good illustration! That sounds really cool. Now I'm jealous!
I'll look forward to your trip report.

The quip is that we "don't tan - we rust". It's been an unusually dry year here, tho, and a hot summer - 99F yesterday and 104F today!

According to him you MUST go to St Barts,

I don't think we go there - the scheduled destinations are the Bahamas and Nassau. Even tho I grew up on the East coast, I was never any further south than Virginia, so I'm really looking forward to it.
