Girlie got great deal on some GoreTex gear at the tail end. Me? Nada! Nichts! Nothing! You had to be a midget or a giant to get a bloke deal. Anyway. Arlon Ness v Hein Gericke in the GoreTex touring gear department. Any thoughts cos it's new territory for me.

Should have quantified that CAD.....:xm

Both me and the Mrs run Belstaff Goretex, never leaked, lasted years and not fallen to bits, snug as a bug and comfy for all day riding....:-:

Good buddy of mine uses Rukka - top quality kit, far too warm for the majority of riding and chuffinly expensive.....I think he paid around a grand for jacket and trousers...

Depends how much wedge you are looking at spending and personal choice...

Hein Gericke Master IV jacket. REALLY waterproof (600 miles under buckets of water, arrived dry inside), and testrode it consciously - result: the protection offered by the hi-protec padding is second to none, it actually saved me from being paralysed in my right arm. The fabric got torn a bit, but not the goretex membrane, still use it and still dry in it, so all in all... Result. Not cheap but at the end of the day, you've got what you pay for. Coming to think of it, at the beginning of the day too.

I swear by Belstaff gear, got an Explorer jacket for winter, never leaks warm as toast. However think they have stopped making bike gear. Take a look on ebay for one. Or try the Voyager GORE-TEX Jacket

I use the Hein Gericke Voyager GTX-Pants Hein Gericke web site very warm and never leaked once.

Cheers peeps! Love Belstaff myself but as said not going anymore. Shame! Guess its keep lookin and trawl the ebay thing. From the lack of mention I guess Arlon Ness isn't worth it?

Can't fault anything I've had from Hein Gericke, top quality gear.
I had Belstaff gear for many years as well not a drop of water came through. Both makes I will personally endorse k1ap

If you are looking to purchase some very usuable textile kit, I know of two sets (jackets/trousers) for sale by my brother - he's decided that he prefers his leathers. E-mail me and I will put you in touch. steveriggs@steveriggs.freeserve.co.uk
