Thanks Org1/DanBow. A mate just suggested Pilot 4's, have either of you tried these for comparison?

I dont ride that much any more, 4-5 times into London (from inside the M25) a month and the odd blatt around the countryside.

No, mine had Bridgestones on when it got it and, apart from the abysmal BT023, have never needed anything else.

Yes... you have to be a full member to access all the forum and the help section/knowledge base
If you think it worth £5.50 just click on account upgrades ( immediately below the BIRD logo ) :)
No one makes money out of it, goes to pay for server/software etc etc ..

Thanks for the input. I also found this whist spankin the www https://www.motorcyclenews.com/advice/best/sports-touring-tyres/ it agrees with your recommendations. Not sure how good MCN are, but it adds to the overall picture.
MCN .. recommendations based entirely on advertising revenue only .... Loads and loads of people on here rate the Avons very highly ( including my self )

In all honesty I doubt there is a 'bad' tyre out there ( apart from Michelin and the older type Dunlops, which I think they made of crushed marbles and ABS plastic ) and a lot is down to personal preference :)
