Posted in Help section, thought a copy in touring might be useful.

I Made my headlight beam height adjuster for £2.18.
Why make one - to allow adjustment of the height of the lights for solo/2up/2up with luggage.. Once I know exactly how many turns are required for each situation it'll be a simple convenient adjustment.

10swg undercarriage clamps (4 pack) from a model shop (99p).
10swg piano wire (40p)
Operating knob from maplins (79p)
A couple of self tappers..

Pictures explain it all..
remove infill panels
Remove screen
Release instrument console

I didn't even have to remove the OE adjuster, drilled in situ.
EDIT: 3 years down the line, the OE adjusted fell off, so it may pay to prise this off with a screwdriver either side, then drill and fit a c/sunk self tapper behind the undercarriage clamp to secure it to its spindle. That's what I did.

Bend hook and clamp piano wire to OE adjuster, plastic tube over to prevent rubbing. Grind flat for control knob retaining screw to bite on to.
Total length of piano wire actuator is 132mm, this will give 20mm through the infill panel.

Operating knob fitted.
