Not sure if that’s how it’s spelt but yesterday we were discussing mobile phones & someone mentioned that they’d got one on contract, another chap chipped in stating that his son has been working abroad & told him not to get one as they contain a big brother style bug so the Government can spy on people, normally I would have laughed at this but the guy who said it is not normally one for specilation or making up fanciful stories.

Old news too.
Was it not UK government who decided against contracts with them??

I think that was for 5G hardware, Alec. I have a P10 which is a great phone and they can record whatever they want. I do not do banking on-line. Anything I buy on-line is paid for by paypal so if they get hacked I may be in the proverbial.

Apple have been tracking iPhone users since day one. The DVLA track us too, but those cheeky fuckers pass on our whereabouts and personal data to anyone who offers them a few quid. We're also tracked via credit/debit card usage and from mobile usage via cellular towers for ALL mobile phones connected to ALL providers.

Big Brother is watching all of us from all angles.

There are, so I read, more cctv cameras per capita in the UK than anywhere else in the world..

I seem to remember the issue with Huawei was the 5G hardware that GCHQ was going to use. As Huawei is Chinese owned someone thought the hardware could be used for spying on the West, so all Govt owned/leased Huawei hardware has been removed.

Don't think the Chinese will get much out of my Huawei phone, except where I am/going/come from, which Google tracks anyway.

Which, given the amount of twats that can't hold their drink that are prowling the streets along with general petty criminal, is no bad thing.

Personally I don't mind being tracked by 'big brother' as I have nothing to hide.

I do object to tracking data being used for marketing purposes.
