We've just got back from there...

Wonderful roads, wonderful scenery, changeable weather(but bareable), Wonderful food (and lots of it)

We met Simon from The Harmonie, but stayed at what Stealthy called "Draculas castle" http://www.hotel.bellevue.harz.de/index.html

Its a 100 year old traditional building right in the centre of Bad Grund... Lovely people who speak English, and loads of hospitality...Even a bar in the basement (and one in the tower as well for mr Dracula )

When you do go, you must visit Quedlingberg. Its a medievil town on the outskirts of the Harz mountains. If you stand outside the castle (Schloss) gates, you will swear that the child catcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang will come round the corner any moment...Prices are not touristy, and you could easily lose a day there.

People are very friendly in the Harz, and its full of bikers having fun... Just watch out for the hairpins, they get a bit greasy after a bit of a dry spell.

Enjoy it, we do every time.

Best wishes,

Rolfy, Stealth & the girlz.

As Rolfy mentioned, I have never seen so many signs on petrol stations, restaurants, hotels and even the road's themselves welcoming bikers, and saying biker friendly. It was a magical holiday well worth a visit.
Make sure you can conform to a strick diet when you return, cos the meals were gigantic smilie_koc

If you need any info contact myself or Rolfy Dave.Just done 10 day's and got back fri so all info up to date

Went in early June, stayed in a little b+b in Sank Andreasburg. The lass who runs the place spoke no english but being as one of our party was German it wasnt a problem. Bikers welcome signs are everywhere, roads are terrrific, views breathtaking and the only time it rained was for 1/2 hour while we were checking into the b+b.

Real Biker Hotel in the Harz Mountains for Real Bikers

Dear B.I.R.D Members

I see there are quite a few hits to our humungous website www.hotel-harmoniebadgrund.org.uk from you lot and I've followed the threads to your site.

Just so you are aware, we are the premier and original BIKER HOTEL in the Harz Mountains and we're real bikers not hotel owners pretending to like bikes. We've been riding for over 30 years, know the Harz and surrounding areas like the back of our hands, conduct tours all over the place , have secure parking (not that theft is an issue here), a fantastic bar and you're guaranteed to find other UK bikers staying with us when you visit. Our rates are extremely reasonable and like the comments say on this site we are friendly and welcoming. We are highly recommended by the BMW Owners Club, Hog, Bandit Owners Club, IAM and many more. Don't hesitate to contact us-we're for real !

Look forward to hearing from you. Best regards Simon

PS. We are already nearly sold out for June 2007 so get booking !
