We've just got back from there...
Wonderful roads, wonderful scenery, changeable weather(but bareable), Wonderful food (and lots of it)
We met Simon from The Harmonie, but stayed at what Stealthy called "Draculas castle"
http://www.hotel.bellevue.harz.de/index.html
Its a 100 year old traditional building right in the centre of Bad Grund... Lovely people who speak English, and loads of hospitality...Even a bar in the basement (and one in the tower as well for mr Dracula
)
When you do go, you must visit Quedlingberg. Its a medievil town on the outskirts of the Harz mountains. If you stand outside the castle (Schloss) gates, you will swear that the child catcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang will come round the corner any moment...Prices are not touristy, and you could easily lose a day there.
People are very friendly in the Harz, and its full of bikers having fun... Just watch out for the hairpins, they get a bit greasy after a bit of a dry spell.
Enjoy it, we do every time.
Best wishes,
Rolfy, Stealth & the girlz.
