...Hard Times?

Dark Angel

Still kickin' it!
...These are hard times for Valentino ? and even harder times for his followers.

Over the years, we?ve become used to watching him winning but, remote from the once-accepted ?norm?, racing fans also understand the very real evolution of ?the sporting life? in a way that may yet remain beyond Rossi?s comprehension. :dunno:

We know, from observation, how time marches on ? while time seems not always to have been the most important element for Rossi; rather, his adversaries were the ones to be beaten: beat them; dominate them away from the track and use the clock as a spur to confirm your superiority. (At other times, I'm convinced, he chose not to compete against the clock in qualifying because he knew he had already beaten his rivals on the psychological battlefield.) I suppose it all depends how your priorities are arranged.

We recognise our champions; we see and applaud them at their best; we revere them as they reach the pinnacle of their achievements; and we remember them forever but, still; time marches on and, unfortunately, for the moment at least, time is marching faster than Rossi can ride the Ducati.

...Hard times indeed.

......But...

... the season has only just begun...

... and when the going gets TOUGH... b0x1

...Come on.... :yo:

Heis past it , doesn't face the edge, the burn, the eye of the tiger any moreothers are fast keener to win, he its there to peas the time now, wallowing in a pit of past glories, no longer does he light the fuse and go, he slimmers along praying that he dan find something but us helpless against the crop of current riders, he will fade away. Other older racers still have it, still searching for the rush, monkey boy ain't bothered.

To me his body language in the post race interview said a lot. Won't last the season . By fook it was good whilst it lasted though.

To me his body language in the post race interview said a lot. Clearly, he's not suddenly become a "participator", just being there to make up the numbers. Winning; wanting to win; needing to win is still at the core of his being.

That's why I believe the poor results
won't last the season because the Rossi/Burgess/Ducati mix is far too good to fail. I see Vale and Hayden on the podium this year and winning races in 2013 - then it will be time for him to retire, look back and think: "By fook it was good whilst it lasted though!".

...Aye theng yew...!! :-0)

Rossi is a god and will always be a god.

We have been privilged to witness such talent, daring and charm.

All things must pass though and others will come along and wear a crown, but Valentino is a god.

Hard times indeed, but we shouldn't write him off just yet .

He should retire. Being chased down by a CRT bike, embarrising for all concerned. Hayden made it work (kind of).

This dog has had his day. Time to retire gracefully.

Put Checa on the bike for the rest of the season. He just gets on with it.

As you were:-0)

...IN-triss-tingly enough, Bayliss is currently faster (testing, for Ducati) than everybody, bar the top eight, in the current WSB field ? suggesting that if he DID make a comeback and got ?race fit?, he?d soon be kickin? some ass!

?It won?t happen, though? So forget it? :-:

His only win in MotoGP was in 2006 when Rossi fell off at Valencia and lost the title to Nicky Hayden, his current (Ducati) team mate. Meanwhile, Checa is reigning WSB champion ? on a Ducati.

And they say there?s no such thing as ?coincidence?, eh? :p

...Is there any rider, in ANY class, whose record of achievements "coincides" with Valentino's...? d34l

...No..? p0pc0rn41

...Thought not... ;-0))

...Write him off at your peril, ye non-believers...!!

Eric old son, all of the above is why I like you.

Optomistic in the face of adversity. Cant fault ya son.

Still dont alter the fact Wossi is a has been. His head is fecked, mainly I suspect from the fact Stoner got on the Duke and just made it work and made it win.

I will conceed that Wossi, has been a great rider. But it is time for him to go.

He is no longer "velly velly 'appy tooo bee at-a Duuucatiii"

I reckon you would have more sucess at Oulton on a no limits TD with his bike, than he would at this time.

Thank you for reading :-0)

Marty-baby, :k

The fact is; in 2007 Stoner got off the crap bike that he?d been given and onto the Doocati which, at the time, was the best prototype in the first season of the new 800cc series. (In 2006-7, I stated on here my personal belief that Bayliss was on an 800 in 2006 at Valencia when Rossi crashed? bl4hbl4h).

Stoner then got OFF the Doocati when he realised he didn?t have the experience or development skills to put it right and, by doing so, repeated the aforementioned process of getting off a crap bike and onto a half-decent one (only a half-decent Honda because Pedrosa ain?t a ?devo? rider, either). :-0)

That?s where Stoner?s ?supremacy? ends: didn't you notice how Valentino's apprentice has already beaten him, m?dear? (On a bike developed in accordance with the Rossi/Burgess Credo, naturally!).

Rossi/Burgess will ri-i-i-i-se again, like a Phoenix, from the ashes of defeat, to soar in the heady clouds of victory: the past will become no more than a fading memory, overshadowed by the glorious future that lies ahead...

...Rossi WILL return.
