Hi,

I'm a prospective Blackbird owner and have a quick question relating to handlebars!

I find the riding position a bit too low for comfort so wondered if you know of any bars that are more of an upright riding position? If so, what's the most common bars used and does anyone have any comments/suggestions on replacing with more upright bars?

Thanks very much

Welcome aboard Sled

There are quite a few different ways around your problem.

1 You can get risers for the standard bars from 1200 Pete
2 You can fit specific aftermarket bars with more lift, but these tend to be expensive.
3 The bars from the V-tec Vfr fit, and lift the bar up and back.
4 If you can't get any V-tec bars, the Vfr 800 bars will fit if you get the internal diameter increased from 41mm to 43mm (these bars are the same as the V-tec bars apart from the fork size)

Before you do any of the above you can lift the standard bars up the fork tubes about 3/4"

Hope this helps

Hi Sled............

I think if you put 'helibars' and 'vfr bars' and 'bar risers' into the forum search engine (on the blue bar above) you will come up with something!!!

Alot has been said on this matter, so there is alot of reading and many different preferences
