Hamilton & Verstappen

They were both at fault and it should have been a racing incident ‘no further action’ or both should be penalised.
Verstappen was clearly as desperate to keep his place as Hamilton was trying to get it back.
If it didn’t happen there it would have happened at the next few corners.
I don’t care who wins the title just so long as it’s a close fight instead of the one horse races we’ve been subjected to for so long.

Another extraordinary race yesterday, after years of Mercedes domination it was great to see Alpine pick up an amazing win and Williams get both cars in the points. wonder how Hamilton felt on the restart. Lonely maybe. :sisi1 Superb drive from last place on a really tight track, Alonso showed his class, not bad for a forty year old.

Being a Williams fan, I particularly liked Russel on the radio quite early on telling the team that he needs to be sacrificed for the good of the team to get points with Latifi.

So the Verstappen/Hamilton battle continues. Another crash involving them both this weekend.
I like both drivers but I feel both deserved a 3 place grid penalty not just Verstappen. on lap one in the same corner Hamilton gave a lot more room to Norris when he was on the outside and managed to overtake him, why couldn’t he do the same thing on this lap, he would have outpaced him on the straight and be in front. They still would have crashed somewhere in the race anyhow. When it actually happened I thought all the pit crews of Merc & Red Bull were going to have a fight in the pit lane. Tensions & emotions must have been running high at that point.

Great to see McLaren yesterday. They are seriously getting close to Mercedes and Red Bull. Not sure if Mercedes are coming back to the pack as they have stopped developing the current car, focussing on big rule changes for next season.

Either way, the rest of this season Shouid be a belter. Let’s hope it doesn’t end in tears…

BMW keep coming back and leaving. Williams had their engines and then supplied Suaber and then left. Personally I think as punishment Verstappen & Hamilton should both have Lada engines, it’ll give the Haas team someone to compete with.

I didn't understand why Hamilton wasn't blue flagged exiting the pits and hence having to give way to a faster driver already on track!

Blue flags are only if you’re being lapped, well, as far as I know at least.

Spot on

A blue flag indicates that the driver in front who is one or more laps down must let faster cars behind pass. If the driver ignores 3 consecutive blue flags, a penalty is issued to the driver. In practice and qualifying, this is shown when a car is being hindered by a slower car.

banner on Sky says Max has been given a grid penalty for the next race.

My impression at the time was that he was the one at fault as he went for a gap that was never going to be there. I did expect it to be ruled as ‘racing incident’ though.

However, Monza is very narrow and the chicane where the incident happened is ludicrously tight with high kerbs and that needs looking at. Accident waiting to happen.
