Thoughts?
I have watched the start of the race about ten times and still can’t make my mind up.
Hamilton was clearly going to miss the apex when the contact happened so i can see why he was penalised.
On the other hand Max missed every apex bar one before the incident while defending against an overtake.
Verstappen also made a move to the right after initially moving left as they approached the corner which pushed Hamilton into the edge of the track and arguably is the reason why he was going to miss the apex.
To me it’s ‘racing incident’, one that they could have both avoided: Hamilton could have aborted and Max must have known where Hamilton was, particularly as he had already steered left once as they approached the corner.
Either way, great that Max walked away from it and it certainly sets up the rest of the season to be up there in the Prost v Senna league.
