It happened to me last October. :xm
I pulled into a filling station (to use their air so I didn't have to use my little canisters) and was just about to start with the puncture outfit when a van load of Scottish roadworkers pulled up alongside me.
One got out and said " I once saw somebody mend a puncture and know what I am doing" Being the naive fool that I am I let him have a go (I wasn't too worried as my breakdown cover would have taken me to a repairer anyway).
Ten minutes later the offending nail was removed, a plug and glue inserted and 20p worth of air ijnserted in the rear tyre and I was on my way.
Now I have seen someone do it, so I know what I'm doing next time it happens. :}
I then had to buy a new rear tyre, so I made it a pair and had the Ultraseal treatment. ?25 extra, but well worth it I reckon.
