He was an avid practical pistol shooter amongst many things. Mid eighties we were hosting a national grading shoot for the ukpsa at my shooting club, I was laden with targets to ferry down range as replacements for those that were shot out. On passing by a couple of guys going the other way I stopped in disbelief after a couple of steps and turned round Mr Bentine turned also and said “yes young man it’s me” in his best goon voice, made my day very talented man.
