GMC Australian Grand Prix

After Day One in Australia, Randy de Puniet on the Kawasaki has gone fastest. Looks like a gamble with tyre choice paid off for him, he's the only rider to have gone under a minute and a half so far........

Philip Island's a cracking track, you've gotta love that blind uphill lefthander almost all the riders in Free Practice were leaving dirty great darkies as they went through it..........

I was expecting to see something special from the local lads, Casey Stoner and Chris Vermeulen but the latter seems to have some serious problems and Stoner didn't improve between FP1 and 2.

Poor little Pedrosa is about two seconds off of the pace at the moment.............obviously feeling the pain after his highside in Malaysia

Here's the timings from FP1 and FP2 plus some shots.........

Rossi hits out at rival Pedrosa

Pedrosa (l) and Rossi have been battling for the title all season
Five-time world champion Valentino Rossi has hit out at the racing skills of title rival Dani Pedrosa.
Pedrosa accused Rossi of being "very aggressive when overtaking" at last month's Czech GP.

But Rossi said: "The problem with Pedrosa, at this moment, is that he is not able to overtake.

"He arrives at the front always over-shooting, so the danger is him, not me. He needs more experience and to understand the way to overtake."

Highlights: Rossi snatches Malaysian victory

Rossi is bidding for his sixth consecutive Australian MotoGP victory on Sunday and is unbeaten around the Phillip Island circuit since 2001.

His win over Loris Capirossi in last Sunday's Malaysian Grand Prix pushed him to within 26 points of championship leader Nicky Hayden, and just four points behind second-placed Pedrosa with four MotoGPs left in the season.

Pedrosa only moved up to the premier class this year after winning the 250cc world championship last season, but Rossi reminded him he was now in a different league.

"I don't know the situation in 250 but this is MotoGP," Rossi said.

"It's a battle, especially when you are fighting for the second-place position with three laps to go."

This is gonna be a classic........

Checa goes bonkers in FP3, then Hayden-Nakano-Rossi-Roberts fill the first four places on the grid! Colin Edwards starts 5th.

Ride of the day for me was Nakano - outstanding lap. Hayden's vowed to 'stop the bleeding' in the race tomorrow/tonight!

Aussie GP

Just had a look at the FP analysis on the motogp website,, I think Rossi is the most consistant,, always in the 131s,, so I think he has a great chance of closing the gap on Hayden/mini me even further. will be a cracker of a race though,, can't wait.

Bloody away at the Mo,, so can't watch it live :bang:

Yellow flag .............Hayden hallucinates...................... fl4g71

Only yellow he saw was Rossi disappearing............ :xm

Hayden was later reported to have claimed Rossi made a passing manoeuvre on Casey Stoner when the yellow flags were out but no official protest was lodged with stewards.

Awesome last corner by Melandri......one handed , tyre smoking , drift
