Huge congratulations to the man.

I’m really pleased for him, not just because he talked the talk and then walked the walk, but because of the pit he fell into and dragged himself back out of.

I only wish I’d got up and watched the fight.

I didn’t watch it, either; and it wasn’t until I saw, this morning, that he’d won that I realised,
with considerable surprise, how relieved I felt that he’d earned his victory. Well done, Tyson Fury.

I am on night shifts this week so was luckily enough to be awake at that time of the morning .....so watched it
Quite a showman ! But he won.... with determination and dedication !
He has had his ups and downs, but he pulled through and did exactly what he set out to do....
Well done .....
Anthony Joshua next ?

I have been watching the tv programme on him, its a bit odd & he certainly has been right at the top & as low as a man can get good to see him back doing what he does best ….winning!

Now if he don't let it go to his head again he's on route to face AJ that's going to be a massive fight & I couldn't predict a winner

I’d love to see him and AJ fight but I really don’t see it happening. AJ certainly looks the better athlete but I would imagine Fury is too big, strong and powerful for him.

Andy Ruiz Jr flattened AJ in the first fight and almost did the same in the rematch; if he’d trained properly and had his mind on the job, he’d have beaten AJ again.

I might be talking out of my derrière here but I think Fury has a 3” height and reach advantage over AJ. That’s a tough enough obstacle as it is but Fury is also a couple of stone heavier. He’s going to take some stopping and I can’t see AJ being up to it.

Fury's other big advantage is that even if you do break through he can take a punch or two, shrug it off and come right back at you.

Yep. AJ’s punches hardly registered on Ruiz, so I think he’d have his work cut out against Fury. Either way we, as a nation, couldn’t lose as we’d have a British undisputed world heavyweight champion.

Massive congratulations to the guy, not just for the fight but as Pow-Low said earlier for overcoming personal demons and coming out the other side wiser and stronger.
Didn’t see the fight, but a guy down the pub had it on his phone via YouTube, we were watching the rugby and the fight at the same time, gave ourselves neck ache
Only time I wished I’d had eyes like Marty Feldman.

The whole things as daft as WWE or whatever the highly scripted and marketed wrestling thing is called these days.....it's all about money.

When I was lad there was Ali, Frazier, Foreman, etc......can't help thinking they were the good old days.

Mind you, it was all about money then as well....

There was probably more corruption in boxing then than there is now.
I won the Yorkshire schoolboy boxing championship at the ages 13, 14 & 15, I boxed in Plymouth for the England selection to tour new york, I boxed a kid called Mark Winter & absolutely battered him, later found out he got picked over me as two of his relatives were on the selection committee, I lost the taste for boxing then & even refused to represent the RN.

Heavyweight boxing, these days, is “artless” in comparison to the technical skills on show until Ali regained his title (briefly) for the third time in 1979. Then Mike Tyson blasted his way through everyone he faced in just a year (November 22, 1986-March 7, 1987) to unify the WBA, WBC and IBF titles.

For me, Ali is still the greatest-ever heavyweight champion. Mike Tyson, at his best, was the most fearsome. Both men were supremely skilful in different ways; brave, brutal, beautiful to watch and easy to appreciate.
They were fascinating, exciting and entertaining fighters of the old breed - and nothing like the hulking, mauling brawlers of today.

Just read that there will be a rematch in July this year
Wilder blamed his 45lb costume that made him tired during the walk to the ring !
All of 100 yards ??
Who chose this ridiculous costume anyway?
Tyson Fury has the right idea .... get someone to carry him

The thing that really pissed me off about Ali is that he and/or his corner cheated when he got flattened by 'Enry's 'Ammer by cutting his glove when he was sparko on the canvass. The saying 'what comes around goes around' didn't work out on that occasion because Henry Cooper never got to be world champ when he rightfully deserved it.

Mike Tyson. Now there's a man that would terrify anyone with more than two brain cells and prolly one of my favourite ever boxers. He was on Mrs P's flight to London from LA (I think; somewhere in the US anyway) with his bodyguard about eight years ago. She said he was an absolute gentleman and one of the most polite, respectful people ever to set foot on one of her aircraft. Surprisingly softly spoken, too.

“Cheated”? Well, the attempt was made to extend the interval, but it failed demonstrably. “Spark out”?. No. Ali was severely stunned, but his chin was a rock - as Joe Frazier declared after their first fight. The “split glove” incident? It added less than five seconds to the round, but, after the fight, the press hyped it up until it became five minutes!

Start watching at 12:30 if you’re only interested in the knockdown. Use your stopwatch to check the interval - I got 64 seconds, which is four seconds over the minute - but it’s hard to hear the bell. If you watch the whole thing, though, you’ll see what a rough, tough and crafty old bugger ‘Enery was, despite his lovable persona outside of the ring.

Mike Tyson? I can’t imagine that he’d ever have to raise his voice to get someone’s attention.

Nearly all good boxers have a route to the top planned where they will avoid fights they think they might not win, Mike Tyson didn't seem to care in the slightest with a line them up & I will knock them down sort of attitude that impressed me no end, Tyson Fury seem to have the same sort of attitude although I have been reading that all is not well in the camp with his old man saying he should retire
